wine it is... napa

We were suppose to go to Lake Tahoe on this day. But due to the bad weather, we opted for Napa instead. Started the day at Sterling Vineyards. What makes this vineyard different from the others is the cable car ride going to the winery and the view. Was able to taste around 6 different wines... like the white ones more.

After Sterling, we ate at a resto in Calistoga. Went to Castello di Amorosa next. This is a lot better than Sterling since you can go around without paying (especially if you don't drink much).

Last stop, V. Latui Winery. Didn't do much here except to look around their shop.

After seeing downtown LA, it's now time to see some of the other famous sites, this time around Hollywood area.

Started the day at Griffith Observatory. Wasn't able to go in since it opens at 11am and we were there around 9.

Went to Walk of Fame next and joined the tour of Kodak Theatre. Too bad they didn't allow pictures inside.

The Grove is a nice place to hangout. Lots of restos especially the Farmer's Market.

What's a trip to Hollywood without going to Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills. Stopped by some shops but didn't buy any.

Last stop was Long Beach. We also passed by Redondo Beach on our way back.

downtown LA

Went around LA for two days. Started at Union Station and walked around most parts of town from there.

Went to Olvera Street, Civic Center, Disney Hall, Financial District, Staples, and a whole lot more. Thanks to DASH bus which allowed us to explore more of the city.

I have been to LA 4 times and it's usually just Disneyland and Universal Studios. It's nice to finally see more.

dinner at Pink's

After going around 3rd Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier, we had dinner at Pink's. Fell in line for around 1.5 hours... (probably the longest i've fallen in line to get food). This was around 10pm already but the line was still long. Great hotdogs!

Went around Santa Monica specifically 3rd Street Promenade and the Pier. Most of the roads were closed due to the LA Marathon.

Street Performers were in every corner of 3rd Street, and a lot of them were good.

The Pier was nice. The weather was a little chilly but it was ok. It's nice to see some of the beaches in the US.

a day in san diego

Finally got a chance to visit San Diego. We started at the zoo at around 11am and left around 4pm. It was a nice and huge zoo. Wasn't able to see all but it should be enough.

Went to Balboa Park after and visited the different areas around the park. You need at least a day if you really want to visit all the museums in the park.

Last stop... Old Town. Very nice town. Had dinner and went around the market and the various restaurants.

Overall, it was a fun and tiring day. A place I will definitely go back to.

starting a new photo blog...

Finally... I have decided to create my own photo blog. The intent is to have a site where I can show some photographs taken since Shei and I went to the US-Canada back in March up to present. Expect to see more pictures and fewer words.

I will update this as I try to learn the ins and outs of blogspot. Stay tuned...
